The new Novell "Filr" met all the requirements set by the City of Frauenfeld. The desired security requirements of the City of Frauenfeld could be configured via the Filr Management Console. The connection to the corporate directory is made via LDAP, in this case to an eDirectory. The users are filtered according to group memberships and transferred to the Filr. Users who are not in the corporate directory are informed by e-mail when they are released and can register as external users. This gives them access to the files shared with them. If a user already has an OpenID, he can use it to log on to the Filr.
