In 1984, the company ProCom Computer Vertriebs GmbH was founded in Darmstadt, Hesse. Even then, the focus of business activities was on software development for various purposes.
Due to the advancing development of IT technology, the field of activity expanded very quickly.
PROCOM made a name for itself as a reliable and experienced partner for numerous small and medium-sized enterprises that require competent all-round service for PC systems, servers and peripherals.

Ten years after its founding, Peter Rumpf and Manfred Kiffe joined the company, which then underwent a reorientation.
With the expertise of these two engineers and computer specialists, who now determine the course of the company as shareholders and managing directors, the focus of PROCOM iPOS Systems was initially placed on the system catering industry, with other sectors following.

Today, PROCOM iPOS Systems offers its customers intelligent checkout solutions, especially for the retail trade, gastronomy and company catering (canteens), but also for most other industries.

With its headquarters in Darmstadt and a branch office in St. Ingbert in Saarland, PROCOM is able to serve customers in the Rhine-Main-Neckar region quickly and flexibly. In addition, PROCOM also serves customers and partners throughout Germany and Austria.

PROCOM's core product is the modular POS software called "iPOS", which was developed in-house.

"iPOS" is a powerful cash register management system for the operation of modern PC cash registers with Windows operating system, based on a Sybase database (SAP). This means that iPOS customers are not dependent on any particular hardware manufacturer.

Due to the special software architecture of iPOS, individual work processes at the cash register in particular can be realised in the shortest possible time through a modern type of configuration, which is only possible with most commercially available cash register programmes through individual programming.
This makes iPOS look like customised software, perfectly tailored to the specific needs of the customer, with all the advantages of a standard application.

iPOS is very scalable due to its architecture. With the same application, both a small shop with a single cash register and a very large cash register network with more than 100 cash registers and in several hundred branches can be operated economically.

The iPOS POS software naturally meets all the requirements of the financial authorities (GoBD conformity in Germany, RKSV conformity in Austria) and is certified for the connection of various scales.
In addition, iPOS has multiple data storage and the possibility to quickly restore a system in the event of a hardware defect.
