The Institute for Applied Informatics e. V. (InfAI) was founded in 2006 for the purpose of promoting science and research in the fields of informatics and business informatics. In addition, the InfAI regularly organises meetings, workshops, symposia and conferences to strengthen the exchange between excellent scientists and the exchange between science and industry. These events include the annual Leipzig Days of Applied Computer Science, Energy Eco Systems, Se-mantics, InnoLogist and others. The InfAI sees itself as a transfer institute and innovation driver of solutions based on current ICT technologies. These are developed within the framework of national and international research projects or as contract research for various target sectors and are then brought to product maturity together with companies. then brought to product maturity together with companies and thus made usable. With such a closed value chain, innovations become usable for companies and inherent research risks become manageable. It is the strategic goal of the InfAI to further expand this role. To this end, the InfAI Management GmbH was founded as a 100% subsidiary of the Institute for Applied Informatics (InfAI) e.V. was founded. The GmbH focuses on transfer and economic activities.
