Air Separation.
Since air is a simple mixture, liquefying and distilling air provides a process to successfully separate the Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Argon. All ASU’s use this process. Air separation is the most common process used to extract one or all the main constituents of atmospheric air. The three main components are Nitrogen (78.1%), Oxygen (20.9%) and Argon (.9%).
The process involved below systems.
1. MAC (Main Air Compressor)
2. BAC (Back Air Compressor)
3. Front end clean up.
4. Coldbox
5. Expander etc.
The plant has Siemens PCS7 system with S7-417 controllers.
This project was executed in USA with a customer that manufactures Rubber and Specialty grades of Carbon Black. The tail gas resulting from the upstream Carbon Black manufacturing process is incinerated by utilizing both direct flame incineration and high temperature thermal oxidation to destroy the combustible compounds.
There are two Tail Gas Incinerator systems.
1. Incinerator #1
2. Incinerator #2
Each of the above-mentioned Tail Gas Incinerator systems includes the following:
• Reducing/Oxidizing vessel with refractory and ceramic media
• Dual fuel burner
• Fuel skid
• Burner Management System (BMS) panel
• Tail Gas Fan and ductwork to Incinerator
• Combustion Air Fan and ductwork to Incinerator
